I conducted my Pre teaching experience with Mrs. Jenny Lane at Northside Intermediate School in May. There were so many things that I learned from such an amazing educator and group of children. Mrs. Lane teaches third grade. This experience was very hands on and thrilling! Being a teacher especially with young children takes a very caring person that is passionate about teaching. I found my passion over the course of the five days I spent with Mrs. Lane’s class.
I never knew that seeing a child play a math game would bring tears of joy to my eyes. The kids get so very excited about a game that the third grade teachers set up called Multiplication Around the World. In this game, the children move their chairs, snaking around the classroom. The teacher has a deck of flashcards that have multiplication facts on them. The teacher then covers the answers to the multiplication facts and two kids at a time are up to say the correct answer first. Next, the winner moves on to the next kid and battles him/her. The game continues until one child reaches back to his/her seat. I found out that over this week, whenever the kids learned and retained facts, I was extremely proud. It was absolutely touching to see kids learn and enjoy learning.
The last day that I had with Mrs. Lane’s class was bittersweet. In a way, the kids had become my very own as if I had been there all year! Little kids are a joy to teach, even with the hard work it takes to being a teacher. It is challenging, yet rewarding, and I absolutely cannot wait until the day that I am called Ms. Hunter again.
"I'd Like to Welcome to the Class,
Ms. Hunter...!"

This was my workspace in the back of the classroom where I did all my observing.

Here was my view of one side of the classroom where I observed her awesome kids.

Each of the kids wrote a message for me inside the card. I knew after that day that this is where my calling is.
